Welcome back to The Queue, the daily QA column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) has hijacked this shindig.
Wait, we’re doing music intros? Why wasn’t I inform — fine, here, have a video of Chris Metzen wailing a pretty amazing version of Sweet Home Alabama from the Starcraft II launch and we’ll call it good, okay? Now how about some questions about Warcraft, because those are pretty cool too.
Considering how often some questions come up *cough* MoP release date *cough*, would you consider making an FAQ for people to read before sending questions in?
See, the inherent problem with creating an F.A.Q. is that it requires people to read it before they submit a question. … you know how well that would actually work, right? Suffice it to say, we don’t really mind wading through all of the repeat questions. Or at least I don’t, anyway.
P.S. The Mists of Pandaria release date? Yeah, we still don’t have that. Soon™.
Do you think Sea Turtle mount will be available from MoP fishing pools too?
It’s likely, anyway — the mount originally dropped in Wrath fishing pools, and that was expanded to Cataclysm fishing pools when Cataclysm launched. To me, this suggests it is less of a location-based item as it is a profession-based item. As long as you’re on Azeroth, you can fish a Sea Turtle. Mind you, we don’t know for certain on that one, yet.
What happens if I win an auction on the AH, but the character that had created the auction was in the meanwhile deleted? Where does the gold I payed go? Does it just disappear?
You can’t delete a character that still has mail in their inbox or auctions currently running, so you’ll never run into that issue, thankfully! However, if you happen to mail something to another player from the character, you can delete the character after the mail is sent. When the player opens their mail, it lists it as being from Unknown, signifying that character no longer exists.
Or that they picked the name Unknown, which would be kinda weird.
My question is: Is there any chance that Blizzard will change the maximum daily quest cap that’s set at 25 in MoP?
Why yes. They’ve already removed the daily cap altogether, and it’s going to stay that way. Feel free to do as many or as few dailies as you’d like once Mists launches!
My question, what faction do most of the wow insider team play? Always wanted to know. By that i mean which is higher among you, horde or alliance?
It’s a relatively even split I believe, leaning slightly more towards Alliance, although we do have quite a few Horde players (like myself) as well.
Ben Powers asked:
Question about the beta. What’s the color difference for achievs? Noticed some are red and some are blue.
I’m not sure about the red, but here’s a closer look at the blue and what it means:
As you can see, if you’ve got an earned achievement that is tagged with blue, it means that all of your characters have credit for that achievement — it’s an account-wide achievement. If you look at the one below it, you’ll see a gray header. That appears to indicate an account-wide achievement in progress, and every character on your account attributes towards that achievement with their progress.
@redcowrise on Twitter asked:
If Pandaria is first reached by H/A lvl 85 representatives in ships, won’t monks porting there at level 30 mess up that story?
Not exactly. The area that monks port to is high in the peaks of Kun-Lai Summit, and it’s pretty much cut off from the rest of Pandaria proper. The idea is that the pandaren are teaching the rest of the world how to be monks, so of course monks would need a pandaren trainer for respeccing and the like. It requires a little suspension of disbelief, but it’s not really what I’d call game-breaking to the story or anything like that.
@drob18120 on Twitter asked:
Why did blizzard never add a holy magic dps spec to priests?
Because the Holy Light is something that’s used for good, to heal people and whatnot. Or if you’re a paladin, to beat the snot out of someone. Shadow is pretty much the priest version of DPS — where there is the healing light, there must always be shadow behind it, you know? Kind of a balance thing going on there. It’s less of a mechanical reason and more of a flavor-of-the-class reason, if you know what I mean.
And I’m spent! Be sure to leave your question’s for tomorrow’s Queue author, and remember — no, we do not know the release date for Mists. Yet.
